Season Iconic Moments
Haiden Deegan (1-1) didn’t set the fastest (or 2nd fastest) laps of either moto at the 2025 Fox Raceway National but he wore down his competition around the halfway point each time out and convincingly won for the second year in a row at what he considers his home track. It’s his 8th career win.
Joe Shimoda (2-2) finished second overall, the best opening round finish of his career. Tom Vialle (4-3) earned the exact same finish as 2024; Julien Beamer (5-4) earned his first top 5.
Jett Lawrence (1-1) returned to racing just three months after knee surgery and opened the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship with (yet) another victory to keep his perfect overall win record at Fox Raceway. He’s now won 8 of 8 races there. In the 450 class alone, he’s 6/6 in motos and 91/91 in laps led.
Eli Tomac (4-2) also returned to racing and hounded Lawrence for the first 25 minutes of the second moto before fading 11 seconds back.
Haiden Deegan (1-1) recorded his 4th career moto sweep but it was his first ever perfect race (Fastest Qualifier and moto sweep). For the second week in a row, Deegan won both motos over Jo Shimoda (2-2), in win margins of 6.99 and 9.1 seconds. Deegan is the first rider to win the first 4 motos of the season in the 250 class since Jeremy Martin in 2014.
Levi Kitchen (3-3) finished third overall. Due to extreme temperatures, the second motos were shortened to 25 minutes +2 laps
Jett Lawrence (3-1) won his 17th career 450MX race in his 18th start but, maybe more shocking, was his 3rd place in moto 1, the first time he’d ever taken 3rd in a 450 moto.
Eli Tomac (1-9) won moto 1, his 69th career 450 moto win and first Since Sept. 2022. Aaron Plessinger led all but 2 laps of the first moto but couldn’t hold off Tomac. Justin Cooper (4-2) finished third and pulled the holeshot in moto 1. Because of the excessive heat (103), the second motos were shortened to 25 minutes +2 laps.
Jett Lawrence’s (1-1) 18th career win ties him for 10th on the all-time most premier class Pro Motocross wins… he only has 19 starts! It was also the 15th 1-1 sweep of his 450 career.
Lawrence outlasted the moto 1 pressure of Aaron Plessinger (2-5/3rd, who actually passed Jett late in the moto) and a hounding from Eli Tomac (3-2/2nd) in moto 2.
Notably, Tomac earned his 176th career 450 (SX+MX) podium. He’s now the all-time leader on the combined podiums list.
Chance Hymas (1-1) recorded a perfect day in 250MX, matching Haiden Deegan’s (2-2) Hangtown performance. But not only was Hymas Fastest Qualifier and a double moto winner, he topped both qualifying sessions, holeshot BOTH motos and led every single lap of racing.
Deegan challenged in moto 1 before engine problems forced him to save the bike. This was Hymas’ second career win. Levi Kitchen (8-3) took another 3rd overall.
For the second time this season, Haiden Deegan (1-1) won qualifying and both motos to record yet another perfect day. They were his 18th and 19th career moto wins and his 10th overall victory. With a +42 point lead, he has the 4th largest points lead ever after four rounds.
Tom Vialle (4-2) got his best finish of the season with a second overall. Levi Kitchen (2-6) was third for a third consecutive week.
…Jett Lawrence still wins. Even a moto 2 storm that cost most riders their goggles and ended the race with 7:02 left on the clock (red flag, lightning) couldn’t stop Lawrence from winning his 19th career 450MX overall. Lawrence finished the first lap in 9th and didn’t secure the win until he passed Aaron Plessinger (3-4) on the 9th (and, ultimately, final) lap.
Eli Tomac (5-1) won his 70th career moto and finished 3rd overall while Hunter Lawrence (2-2) missed the overall win by just one point.
Haiden Deegan (1-1) won his 11th career 250MX overall, tying Jeff Ward for 14th most all-time and he recorded his 3rd perfect day of the season, with another Fastest Qualifier and moto sweep. Deegan dominated, winning the first moto +25-seconds over Levi Kitchen (2-4/3rd) and the second moto +9-seconds over Jo Shimoda (10-2/5th).
Tom Vialle (3-3) picked up second overall but wasn’t in the mix for the win. He was -45-seconds in the second moto.
With a 20th 450MX win in 21 starts, Jett Lawrence (1-1) has already moved into 8th on the all-time premier class wins list, tied with James Stewart and Jeff Stanton.
It was a clinic by J. Lawrence who seemed to understand the threat Eli Tomac (3-3/3rd) posed at Southwick. He sprinted away early in each moto to beat his brother Hunter Lawrence (2-2) by 13 and 20 seconds. Tomac was down 32 seconds in both motos.
Jo Shimoda (1-1) recorded both his first holeshot and overall win since 2023 and his first Pro MX win on a Honda. It happened with the global president of the Honda Motor Corp. in attendance, giving Honda its second four moto sweep of the season.
Haiden Deegan (14-2/5th) suffered through a tough day with a severely bruised leg from a qualifying fall. Jalek Swoll (6-3/2nd) earned Triumph its second Pro Motocross podium (but first ever moto podium) and Michael Mosiman (4-4) earned his first overall podium since Sept. 2021.
Jett Lawrence (1-1) proved he can hit curveballs as he cruised to his 37th and 38th 450 Pro Motocross wins and tied Ken Roczen for 7th most premier class wins all-time (21). In moto 2, J. Lawrence fell in the final corner of lap 1, finishing the lap in 18th, over 14 seconds behind early leader, Hunter Lawrence (2-3/2nd).
Jett still passed for the lead on lap 11 of 16 and pulled out a +8-second lead. Justin Cooper (4-2) was 3rd overall and in moto 2, Jorge Prado led the first Pro Motocross laps of his career.
Eli Tomac (34-7) suffered a mechanical in moto 1 and Ducati’s Antonio Cairoli (9-39) became just the 3rd rider in sport history to finish top 10 in a moto at the age of 39+.
Haiden Deegan (2-1) soldiered through with a still-sore-and-bruised leg to win his 12th career 250MX overall to tie Eli Tomac for 13th on the list of all-time wins in the class.
Jo Shimoda (2-4/3rd) ran down and passed Deegan late in moto 1 but didn’t put in a breakaway lap and handed it back to Deegan. Jeremy Martin’s (3-1/2nd) walk-off win in moto 2 might be the story of the season as the 32-year-old ended his career with a win in his 174th moto.
Jeremy Martin (3-1/2nd) ended his Pro Motocross career in storybook fashion when he holeshot both motos and straight won moto 2 despite mid-race threats from defending champion and 19-year-old Haiden Deegan (1-2) who is 13 years his junior.
Martin raced the opening two rounds of the season to disastrous results (21st and 44th overall). He took a break and said his home (literally) track, Spring Creek MX Park would be the final race of his career. The 2-time 250MX champion (2014-2015) raced to his 46th career podium and 41st career moto win. Only Ricky Carmichael (2007), Ryan Villopoto (2013) and Rick Johnson (1990) won the final MX moto of their careers.
For the 4th consecutive round, Jett and Hunter Lawrence went 1-2 overall but this time Hunter finally copped a moto win. Jett pulled his 5th and 6th holsehots of the season but fell coming out of the whoops on lap 1 of moto 1. Hunter won the moto +15 over Jett, who quickly got back to second.
Jett won moto 2 by 8.9 seconds over Hunter. His 22nd career win gave him 7th on the all-time premier class wins list.
For the second time in his career, Jo Shimoda (2-1) won a second Pro Motocross round and kept his championship hopes alive while Haiden Deegan (1-2) limited the damage by tying Shimoda on points. It was Shimoda’s 5th career win.
Garrett Marchbanks (3-4) had a big day. He earned his first career Pro Motocross podium in 250MX (3rd) AND was Fastest Qualifier for the second time in his career and first since 2019.
Chase Sexton (1-2) stopped Jett Lawrence’s (3-1) season win streak at 7 and handed Lawrence only his second loss in his 450 Pro Motocross career. Jorge Prado pulled the moto 1 holeshot, his first of his AMA career
In moto 2, Jett and Hunter Lawrence, Chase Sexton and Eli Tomac (2-3) were in a 4-way battle for the lead when a red flag came out at the 21:22 mark. The staggered restart was the first in Pro Motocross history. Jett Lawrence won and Tomac earned his 77th career premier class podium.
