In the early days of pro Motocross, the Orlando Sports Stadium hosted a pair of nationals. The track ran near the indoor arena was named after professional wrestler Eddie Graham a few years after the Motocross stint, thanks to his promotion running shows in the building. The venue was opened in 1967 and demolished in 1995 due to its code violations, notably lacking air conditioning and having a concrete floor.

The Orlando Sports Stadium that hosted two nationals is a fairly unknown area. While listed under the Sports Stadium name, the actual building was an indoor arena, not a Motocross facility. Orlando hosted just two nationals before disappearing from the schedule. In 1983, racing returned to the city, as Supercross headed to the famed Citrus Bowl.

In two races at the Orlando Motocross, one man conquered the field both times.

1972/1973-A Combined Show

Brad Lackey was the winner at both Orlando Motocross events, at least in the American record books. In both years of the event, the race was a Trans-AMA event, with world racers competing separately from the Americans. Lackey and Jimmy Weinart were easily the two best American racers, finishing as the top two in both motos. Roger Decoster went 1-2 to take the international class with Lackey going 6-6.

In 1973, Lackey won the American class again with a distant 7-8 as German rider Adolf Weil won for the international crowd. Weil dominated the first moto on his Maico, before finishing second to Hakan Andersson in the second moto. Weil took the overall win, the 34-year-old impressing the local crowd with a stellar effort.
