Jett Lawrence led all 20 laps in the first main event of 2024 to become the first rider in Monster Energy Supercross history to win in their first 450SX start. The debut was a dominant display from Lawrence, as he was the fastest qualifier and set the fastest lap of the main event. He became the first rookie to win the opener since Ken Roczen in 2014, continuing his momentum after a perfect Motocross season and an SMX playoff title.
RJ Hampshire won his 3rd career 250SX main event in his 58th try. The win gave RJ the red plate for the first time in his career, which is currently in its 10th season. The veteran held off former teammate Jordon Smith for the victory and proved many that listed him as the pre-season title favorite correct.

The Spaniard comes to the states to give supercross a try for 3 rounds before returning to Europe to defend his title. We anticipate he’ll return full-time in 2025!
With his 45th win, Eli Tomac broke a tie with Chad Reed to become the 4th winningest rider in Supercross history. It was an uncharacteristic start for Tomac who’d previously averaged 10th at Anaheim 1.
Chase Sexton made an early statement in 2023 as the first fastest qualifier of the season. He’d go on to be fastest qualifier 14x in 2023 and added his name next to Chad Reed (2004) and James Stewart (2007, 2009) as the only riders in 21 years (since qualify records are available) to be fastest qualifier at the first round and win the championship.
