Cooper Webb: 2025 Supercross Champion
Cooper Webb only needed a 5th place or better to secure his third Monster Energy Supercross Championship and join the 6 other riders to accomplish the title hat trick. Webb cruised to a 4th place behind Chase Sexton, Malcolm Stewart and Justin Cooper, to win the crown by 2 points.
Webb finished the season with 5 wins and 13 podiums. It was the 4th time in Webb’s 450SX career he scored 13 podiums in a single season. Sexton ended the season with 7 wins and 2nd in the championship. J. Cooper secured 3rd in the points.
Tom Vialle 2025 250SX East Champion
The 250SX East championship was a winner-take-all situation between Tom Vialle, Seth Hammaker and RJ Hampshire. The inclusion of the West division riders made the season finale even more interesting and complicated. 250SX West rider Haiden Deegan led every lap of the main event for his 7th career win and missed the chaos behind him.
Vialle went from 2nd to 5th and then back to 3rd as Julien Beamuer blocked and battled Hammaker. On lap 16, Hampshire went for the kill on Hammaker in a corner, a move that took both of them down. Vialle passed both riders. Hammaker wasn’t able to repass Vialle and lost the title by three points.
Denver 2025: Deegan 250SX Champ
Haiden Deegan won the 250SX West division championship after a lap 18 pass sent his teammate Cole Davies off the track, the second time that day (same corner!) the two collided. Davies’ 5th overall left Deegan with a +25 lead with one round remaining; Deegan owned the tiebreaker (more 2nd place finishes).
Deegan outpaced Davies in 8 of the last 9 laps for his 3rd main event of the season. On the podium, with the crowd booing and cheering, Deegan said, “If you don’t like it you can suck it.”
2024 450SMX Champion: Jett Lawrence
For the second consecutive year, Jett Lawrence won the 450 SuperMotocross World Champion and this time he did it with two completely new challengers in the field: his own brother, Hunter Lawrence, and Eli Tomac.
Jett (1-3-1 for the season) ended the night tied in points with Hunter but won the title on wins. His SMX cash haul: $1,225,000. The SMX title is Jett’s 8th total, 4th in the 450 class.
Hunter (4-1-2 in SMX) finished second in points and took home $660,000.
Sexton started the SMX season with the #1 seed for the second year in a row but suffered bad luck at the finale once again. On the opening lap of moto 1, he moved into Justin Barcia’s line through a rhythm section. Barcia landed on top of Sexton’s right hand/shoulder (suffered a bone contusion in his hand). Neither rider crashed but Sexton pulled off the track and never returned to action. He tumbled to 7th in points.
2024 250SMX Champion: Haiden Deegan
Haiden Deegan won the 2024 250 SuperMotocross championship for the second consecutive year but this time in dominating style. Deegan won 5 of the 6 motos run and finished 1-1-2 in the overalls.
The Star Racing Yamaha rider had a big enough points pad headed into the triple points paying finale that he only needed third or better (if Tom Vialle won). Deegan’s cash haul: $625,000.
Vialle had a bumpy post-season and was never in contention for a win. He went 5-2-5 in the three rounds and secured his runner-up spot by just one point. His SMX winnings were just over $280,000.
Pierce Brown won the final round and shot from 7th to 3rd in the points. Brown improved each week (11-7-1). His 2-1 motos in Las Vegas were his only podium finishes all season and he pocketed nearly $205,000 for his three weekends of work.
