2011: Ryan Villopoto's first 450MX title

While 2010 was the year of Ryan Dungey, it was Ryan Villopoto who took home both premier class championships in 2011. Villopoto sharpened his skills by battling with Ryan Dungey and Chad Reed throughout the year.

Entering the finale at Fox Raceway (then called Pala Raceway), Villopoto had a 14 point gap over Dungey, and took 3-1 scores (2nd overall to Dungey) to win his first of two 450MX Pro Motocross titles.

2020: The Beginning and The End

In their final moto before shutting down the team, Rick Zielfelder’s and Jeff Majkrzak’s GEICO Honda squad swept the 250MX podium, the final chapter of their 23-season run. Jett Lawrence, 17, won his first career overall with veteran Jeremy Martin and rookie Jo Shimoda in second and third.

In 450MX, another rookie, Chase Sexton, won the overall (3-1) while Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Zach Osborne secured the championship on the strength of four overall victories and six overall podiums.

2021: Yamaha's Return to the Top

The 2021 Pro Motocross season had a deep field of 450 talent but it was rookie Dylan Ferrandis who won round one at Fox Raceway and then the championship three months later at round 11, also at Fox Raceway.

Ferrandis won six overalls and finished top five in all 24 motos. It was Yamaha’s first 450MX title since 2007 and it came in Star Racing’s first season of running Yamaha’s 450 factory program.

2022: Eli Tomac, Down to the Wire

Eli Tomac entered the final round of the 2022 Pro Motocross championship with a one point lead over Chase Sexton and delivered under pressure. Due to temps above 100, the motos were shortened to 25-min. +2 laps. Tomac went 1-1, overcoming a slow start in moto two.

Sexton fell three times in the second moto, twice while trying to pass Tomac for the lead.

Fox Raceway held the opening AND closing rounds of the 2022 season.
