San Diego 2024

RD 3 | Snapdragon Stadium

San Diego’s Supercross history stretches back to 1980 when 40,000 watched Yamaha’s Mike “Too Tall” Bell beat Donnie Hansen and local hero Marty Tripes. A top 10 marketplace for most races held, San Diego has been an early season stop since 1985.

It was a huge night for Aaron Plessinger in San Diego. The fan favorite became the 68th different winner in Monster Energy Supercross premier class history. He’s also the first winner from Ohio and the 7th KTM rider to win. AP7 outlasted a fast-closing Cooper Webb and also earned the red plate for the first time in his career.

Nate Thrasher ended a bad start to the 2024 season (21-18) and took his 5th career Supercross win. A late pass on Garrett Marchbanks put Thrasher out front, as Yamaha secured a podium sweep with Jordon Smith in 3rd. Smith retained the red plate as title rival RJ Hampshire crashed with 2 turns to go, dropping from 3rd to 6th.
