2026 Glendale Supercross Research

By Brett Smith

Welcome to Glendale!

Starting at Sun Devil Stadium in 1986, Supercross in the Valley of the Sun has visited three different area venues. Historically, Glendale’s round falls within the first five stops in the series.

  • 31 Rounds of SX have been held in 3 Arizona locations with 9 in Glendale, specifically.
  • Eli Tomac is the all-time leader of Phoenix/Glendale wins (5)
  • First time winners in Arizona: Ryan Dungey (2010), Justin Barcia (2013), Eli Tomac (2015), Blake Baggett (2019)

450 Rider Facts

  • Cooper Webb has 8 career starts at Glendale and FINALLY got a first podium there in 2025 (1-5-3 at the Triple Crown for 2nd). His average Glendale finish is 6th.

  • Chase Sexton has only rounded lap 1 in the top 5 in two races this season and he’s been outside the top 10 in 3 of the 6!
  • Four different riders have set the absolute fastest lap of the night: Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac, Chase Sexton, Justin Cooper.

  • Missed this one at Anaheim 2: Malcolm Stewart (125) now has more 450SX starts than his big brother, James Stewart (123). Jason Thomas also has 123.

Glendale = Tomac’s House

With Glendale being being just as close to Cortez, Colorado as Cortez is to Denver, it’s no surprise that it’s one of Eli Tomac’s best Supercross venues.

  • First 450SX win: 2015
  • Tomac has never been worse than 4th in 10 Phoenix/Glendale starts
  • 2024-2025: 4th overall (Tomac won TC3 in 2025, 6-4 in the first two races)

Here We Go Again: Webb vs. Roczen

Cooper Webb did it to Ken Roczen. AGAIN. It wasn’t for a win, yet, actually, it was. Where there’s a Webb, there’s a way.

  • In Houston TC3, Webb’s 0.816 margin over Roczen was for 3rd place in the race.
  • Had Roczen been able to pass Webb, it would have meant an OVERALL win for him instead of third.
  • Webb/Roczen or Roczen/Webb: 15 times they’ve gone 1-2 in a TC Race, overall or main event. Webb 9 wins, Roczen 6.
  • 5 of Webb’s 9 wins over Roczen have been with margins of less than 1 second (see chart below)
  • Roczen has only beaten Webb by a sub 1-second margin once (Indy 3, 2021).
  • Roczen owns the most recent 1-2 finish (Daytona 2025) where he beat Webb by over 5 seconds.

*Houston 2026 (TC3) does not appear in chart above because they were racing for 3rd/4th place in the Race.

Hunter Headed to the Ferry Zone? (2nd Place)

Hunter Lawrence earned his 4th career 450SX runner up finish (and his third in a row).

  • Feb. 2, 2019 was the last time a rider finished 2nd three rounds in a row: Marvin Musquin (rounds 3-5).
  • The last rider to finish 2nd in four consecutive rounds? Also Musquin! (2018, Rounds 6-9).
  • The difference between Musquin and Lawrence is that Musquin already had 450SX wins before these runner-up streaks.
  • Lawrence is now tied for 3rd all-time with most 2nd place finishes without a win.
Most Runner-ups, no 450SX wins

While all signs point to “HJ” becoming the 70th winner in 450SX history, it’s hard to overlook his similarities to Tim Ferry, who came sooo close many times (5x runner up)

Ferry even won THREE Pro Motocross overalls with 2-2 moto scores.

H. Lawrence’s one 450MX overall? 2-2 moto scores!

Deegan Dominating

Haiden Deegan absolutely dominated rounds 2-4 and more than doubled his points lead at Houston alone.

  • With his 3rd win of the season and 10th of his career, he ties Mickael Pichon and Ivan Tedesco for 21st most 250SX wins
  • Next stop is 11 wins where 6 riders are tied up, including our own Adam Cianciarulo.
All-Time 250SX Career Wins (16-21)
  • Deegan is +19 over Max Anstie. After round 4 in 2025, Deegan was 3rd in points (-3) to Julien Beaumer
  • In 2023, Jett Lawrence had a +20 lead over RJ Hampshire in 250SX West
  • NOTABLE: Deegan’s 20th career podium puts him one behind Austin Forkner, who is in a multi-rider tie for 16th all-time.
Deegan’s Speed
  • Haiden Deegan set the absolute fastest lap time in all three Races in Houston
  • In Races 1 and 2, the three fastest lap times overall all belonged to Deegan.

Cameron Mcadoo Climbing

With 3rd in the Houston Triple Crown, the likable Cameron Mcadoo now has 25 career podiums in 57 starts. In the post-race press conference, he said he’s just now almost feeling up to speed.

  • Mcadoo raced his first Supercross in 2017 and didn’t get his first podium until Las Vegas 2019, his 18th start.
  • He’s now one podium behind three riders who are tied for 4th all-time most 250SX top 3 finishes.
  • With 6 rounds remaining for Mcadoo (and a 44% career podium/start rate), he could hit 2nd on this list below.
